What you will do:

  • Read and Evaluate order to determine the correct color to be applied.
  • Inspect product prior to applying paint for defects and accuracy.
  • Apply correct paint based on order requirements.
  • Overall goal is to correctly apply the finish to the components based on the order the first time so that units can continue in the departmental process to meet customers’ expectations and on-time service for said customers.
  • Performs all the paint checks, orders paint as required, performs audits, trains the painter, performs viscosity test, flow test, nozzle patterns, wet film thickness
  • Apply basecoat, glaze and topcoat to components and doors that come paint prep in accordance to production tickets, send finished product into the paint booth/oven for the members of the paint team to debone and send off to paint build
  • Ability to train operators to enable them to become a qualified painter.
  • Apply paint to components using HVLP spray guns, use of measuring gages to determine application thickness.
  • Paint Knowledge, troubleshooting on spray guns and pumps.
  • Paint Application, distance, fan pattern, overlap, speed and film thickness.
  • Strong knowledge of paint processes,
  • Ability to efficiently use air and hand tools to paint product.
  • Knowledge Staining Methods.
