Infrastructure Engineer

US Remote

Compensation: $95K-105K Base Salary

The Infrastructure Engineer will work with closely with the Sun Auto technical team as well as across the business organization to deliver reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-efficient technology solutions in a collaborative, Agile environment.   As a result of multiple acquisitions, our technology infrastructure includes numerous software programs and operating systems and this role will be responsible for upgrading and improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, providing technical support & troubleshooting, monitoring & reporting, performance & tuning, capacity planning and provisioning.  This technically hands-on role demands a start-up mentality balanced with enterprise development experience and a desire to learn new technologies, drive innovation, and mentor and develop team members.


  • Provides enterprise level cross team support and troubleshooting for issues escalated on installed technical solutions
  • Ability to identify root cause and recommend changes in either technology, operations, or design to avoid recurrence of issues
  • Drives new technology direction and makes strategic recommendations.
  • Directs and implements recommendations to ensure optimal performance and reliability for enterprise infrastructure.
  • Willing learner who demonstrates deep knowledge and understanding in relevant technical domain.
  • Reviews capacity, usage, and performance of enterprise infrastructure to ensure growth demands of the organization can be met
  • Directs and implements infrastructure per prescribed specifications and automates provisioning when possible
  • Install, maintain, and monitor operating environments and leverages automated monitoring & reporting whenever viable
  • Maintains a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues
  • Provides training and support to Infrastructure team members as well as the Help Desk
  • Partners with Cybersecurity & Compliance team to help define and execute security strategies to reduce our cyber threat risk as well as our Disaster Recovery plan
  • Submits change requests and maintains documentation relative to changes in the Sun Auto infrastructure.
  • Documents all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response from both an audit and Help Desk support perspective


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or seven years’ experience in an engineering role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft server and workstation OSes, Active Directory, networking, Azure, Office 365, and VMware
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
