Job Description
The Global Business Data Manager is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of Product Data standards, development, and stewardship. The Manager establishes policies, reporting, KPIs, & feedback processes to ensure consistently high service performance for the department, with an emphasis on continuous improvement. This requires leveraging the existing resource capabilities and developments of other Bemis operating units to drive efficiency and standardization in our approach towards data collection and accurate system information. This role has direct reports and a large team of indirect reporting relationships in multiple regions including North America, Europe, and Asia.

  • Act as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities
  • Execute human capital processes including goal setting, performance reviews, merit planning, human capital planning, recognition, and career development for all direct reports
  • Maintain and facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the SMS and SAP product data requirements, fulfilling the function as necessary and directing other users in interpreting information, monitoring accuracy in the development of data and system corrections
  • Facilitate and coordinate data requirements and standards with resource allocations for the preparation and integration of data to SAP, SMS and other enterprise systems
  • Apply available reports and queries from the data for analysis work, governance, tracking and/or reporting data to other departmental and Corporate Managers to drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the appropriate data impacts necessary for directing and assisting other users, interpreting information, and monitoring accuracy
  • Successfully lead training and support for implementation of Master Data tools, process optimization, and standardizing Master Data cross-functional data flows
  • Successful development and maintenance of appropriate system controls and procedures to ensure integrity of data used in reporting and decision making

  • Demonstrates expertise in Supply Chain tools and master data set-up and integration
  • Decision making and the ability to apply logical thought to identifying and solving problems in all areas of SAP master data
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Effective communication as role has frequent contact with Plant Technical staff, Departmental Managers, Product Development Engineers, and Customer Service in addition to daily contact with Master Data resources and Corporate Staff
  • Service excellence, customer engagement, creative solutions, team leadership, change & thought leadership, collaboration & influence, results orientation, ability to develop organizational capability

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Engineering or related field required
  • 7+ years of experience working with business functions and the associated data requirements in existing legacy systems
  • 2+ years of SAP experience, specifically related to Master Data structures
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience
  • Business related continuing education, seminars and upkeep are expected
  • Travel less than 15%
