Our client's corporate Merchandising Department is seeking an experienced Computer Server Buyer/Merchandise Manager. Candidates must have 3-10 years' experience in buying and sourcing servers, workstations, and/or server components. This position requires relocation to the corporate headquarters located in Hilliard, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy to win server market

  • Identify market opportunities, analyze growth areas, and create plans to drive growth of the server category

  • Drive sales and create programs to significantly improve networking selling capability

  • Drive growth to define volume configurations, drive alignments and drive value proposition

  • Drive weekly, monthly and quarterly business plan goals

  • Achieve gross margin, sales and total inventory turn objectives for server category

  • Negotiate costs and terms of business with vendors including co-op support

  • Select and purchase merchandise including type, quality, source, timing, delivery, mix and promotion for the server category

  • Recommend and direct the development and implementation of both strategic and tactical plans

  • Develop and communicate effective merchandising programs at store level

  • Monitor prices with competitors in the server solution business

  • Forecast top selling SKU's (weekly, monthly, quarterly)

  • Collaborate with the following functional partners to achieve business and organization objective:

  • Stores (Sales and Operations)

  • Web Content Support

  • Advertising/Marketing

  • Accounting

  • Planning and Allocation

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science required

  • A minimum of 3-10 years merchant experience as a Buyer in the Consumer Electronics industry; computer hardware, components and server experience highly preferred

  • Experience in product management for technology products, software or solutions

  • Strong negotiation skills needed; a proven track record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors is a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work with speed and accuracy

  • Must be a detail-oriented team player

  • Proven ability to build strategy and execute to plan
