Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be working with Global Marketing, Advance Development & SoC Architecture teams to drive ultra-low power audio and voice architectures on Ambiq Micro’s technology and product roadmaps.
  • Help analyze requirements at system level and define appropriate hardware/software partitioning to meet overall design objectives, working together with SoC Architects.
  • Develop high level software specifications, establish end to end use cases and flows, and drive design reviews for audio software infrastructure
  • Work with the Software Development teams to transition architecture specification into Ambiq’s products and support key product use cases
  • Interface with customers to understand critical infrastructure requirements and deployment scenarios for enablement of Ambiq solutions with best power-performance profile.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS (EE, CE, or CS) with 10+ years of Embedded Software development experience with embedded systems/real-time environments (bare metal and RTOS).
  • At least 4 years’ experience working with Voice and Audio in embedded systems. 
  • A deep knowledge of audio accelerators, voice processing, DSP architectures and audio/voice interfaces specifically targeting wearable, IoT and mobile systems is critical
  • Experience with one or more of the Audio frameworks (e.g. Audio Weaver, XAF, gstreamer, ALSA etc) and enablement of the same on embedded platforms
  • Experience with Audio peripherals including ADC, I2S and PDM is required. 
  • Experience with ARM M-Class microcontrollers is preferred.
  • Experience developing in embedded C, assembly language and C++.
  • Experience doing performance modeling and optimization
  • Experience with software testing and test automation & defect management practices.
  • Prior DSP experience is required
  • Experience with Radio technologies in context of Audio highly preferred (e.g. Bluetooth and BLE audio)
  • Prior experience & involvement with Audio testing and certifications preferred
