Scope and Responsibilities

Ambiq Micro is searching for an experienced DFT engineer/ Lead to work with chip architects, RTL designers, verification engineers, and test engineers to define the DFT architecture, test plan, and implementation. The DFT engineer/ Lead will report to the Sr. Manager of Digital Design based in Austin, Texas, and participate in the development of the products.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Define DFT strategy and review the architecture and functionality across the designs.
  • Work independently and own all DFT tasks from specification to final pattern delivery.
  • Closely work with RTL, verification, PD, and timing team during DFT implementation.
  • Create test vectors and collaborate with PD team to close requirements.
  • Setup, execute, and debug ATPG runs.
  • Troubleshoot/ diagnosis issues with product designs.
  • Provides expertise related to a defined area of technical field.

Experience Required

  • MS/BS in Electrical, Computer engineering or related field with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with test generation tools for large designs.
  • Knowledge of DFT techniques include JTAG, ATPG, test pattern translation, yield learning, logic diagnosis, scan compression, and MBIST.
  • Experience with RTL simulation, synthesis and back-end implementation flows.
  • Experience with logic synthesis and how DFT implementation affects synthesis.
  • Experience in debugging ATPG patterns, including compressed ATPG patterns.
  • Experience with STA constraints development and analysis for ATPG modes and SDF simulations.
  • Demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent programming skills in Tcl, Python, Perl, Shell Scripting.
