Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Facilitate security systems, IPS, IDS, network design, implementation, Routing, switching, VOIP, firewall technologies, Salesforce, system design, implementation and troubleshooting of complex network systems.
  • Coordinate NERC compliance implementation and communication; ensure that users of the respective systems have the necessary training; continually monitor implementation efforts and report potential violations to the NERC Compliance Manager and respective management.
  • Implement ISP Routing Policies, Network Architecture, IP Sub netting, VLSM, TCP/IP, NAT, DHCP, DNS. 
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical security systems including SIEM, VAT, network IDS, Antivirus, web and email filters and firewalls. 
  • Work with the NERC Compliance Department and Cybersecurity Department to ensure that the necessary processes and procedures applicable to each NERC CIP system are developed and implemented within their respective group.
  • Monitor security systems for possible intrusion.
  •  Interact with end users concerning malware, spam, vulnerabilities, and any other cybersecurity issues.
  • Review and create audit reports on user and system activities.
  • Review system-generated logs for anomalies and take appropriate actions.
  •  Actively probe the network for new threats and risks.
  • Document, deploy, review, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Plan and implement cybersecurity technology projects.
  • Monitor security alerts on the internet and other intelligence feeds and determine whether reported threats could impact company information technology or operational technology systems.
  • Provide technical consulting to other groups on cybersecurity requirements.
  • Create and deliver security training materials and classes for asset owners, software developers, and system administrators.
  • Provide oversight regarding compliance with security regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Review projects relating to NERC CIP systems which may have regulatory impact, and make sure drawings and documents for that system are updated and stored as required.
  • Communicate with Cybersecurity Manager concerning cybersecurity concerns or actual incidents and maintain documentation of objective evidence, including Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) to demonstrate NERC CIP regulatory compliance.
  • In connection with above duties, utilize experience in analyzing problems impacting circuits and performing troubleshooting accordingly to resolve the trouble; managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures; configuring and deploying router, switches, and other network devices to client locationmonitoring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based servers; assisting clients to install new devices such as router, switches, Phones, Firewalls and NID; testing Primary and Failover connection to ensure no downtime/interruptions; and using HP Network Node Manager, Thousand Eyes, Grafana Salesforce, PagerDuty and Jira ticketing tool to track trouble tickets.

 

Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer System Networks, Telecommunications, or related field plus 2 years’ experience in job offered or 2 years’ experience in analyzing problems impacting circuits and performing troubleshooting accordingly to resolve the trouble; managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures; configuring and deploying router, switches, and other network devices to client location; monitoring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based servers; assisting clients to install new devices such as router, switches, Phones, Firewalls and NID; testing Primary and Failover connection to ensure no downtime/interruptions; and using HP Network Node Manager, Thousand Eyes, Grafana Salesforce, PagerDuty and Jira ticketing tool to track trouble tickets.

In lieu of Master’s degree, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in above listed fields plus 5 years of progressive work experience in related occupation.  Experience may be gained concurrently.  Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience


Job Location:  Austin, TX.  Rate of pay: $132,891/year.
