About the Position

Embroker's Business Development Representative (BDR) function is a uniquely creative, self-directed, and entrepreneurial role. Each BDR owns an industry 'vertical' and collaborates with the growth team to - create warm leads via cold email, review metrics indicating buyer intent, prioritize personalized outreach, and generate new business opportunities while providing feedback to the marketing team. Our BDR’s are a key component to Embroker’s customer-experience.

At Embroker, we know calling about insurance can be a challenge. That’s why we gamify the entire experience, & reward every call that goes right. Our BDR’s are encouraged to fail, to learn, & to set stretch goals for themselves and their team. We provide the top level tools and coaching, to ensure that our representatives always feel creatively in control of their impact at the company. We help our BDR’s get licensed as brokers within 60 days of starting, and have a variety of sales roles for them to grow into, depending on their interests.

Bird's eye view of the role:

  • Cross-functional collaboration: BDRs are expected to collaborate with growth and sales to strategize on how to make the biggest impact on the sales pipeline.

  • Structured & Data-driven: the successful BDRs at Embroker are contributing to process improvements and leveraging data to prioritize their outreach and workflow.

  • Strategic communication: BDRs help refine the marketing and sales messaging by listening to common prospect questions and testing new approaches to messaging.

  • Balance of warm and cold calling (80-100 calls per day): BDRs engage with a balance of warm and cold prospects and quickly adapt to the prospects understanding of insurance and Embroker’s value proposition.

  • Professional persistence: BDRs engage with business executives to encourage them to meet with an Embroker expert or complete an application for insurance; as such, they serve as the liaison between the business executive and the Embroker expert.
