Job Description

This position is responsible for assembling a variety of subassemblies and/or finished products and performing functional testing to meet product specifications, quality checks, and on-time deliveries.  Machine Builders report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Assembler Level III (Machine Builder)

Responsibilities of this role:

Perform duties to assemble a variety of Specific Application Machines, including functional testing to meet product specifications, quality checks, and on time deliveries.

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:

1.     Able to read blueprints, schematics and shop drawings. Basic understanding of part specifications and tolerances

2.     Makes effective decisions in the midst of change

3.     Communicates effectively

4.     Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration while working toward team success.

5.     Assemble a variety of machines with little or no supervision

6.     Has the ability to work both independently and with others

7.     Lubricate, align, and adjust subassemblies for free working and proper operation

8.     Perform operating tests per product checklists

9.     Immediately report any tools or machinery which is not operating properly to your team coordinator or manager

10.  Perform multi cell assembly duties and misc duties as assigned

11.  Use feeler gauge, common hand and power tools, arbor press, hydraulic press, hand trucks. sit down and stand up forklift

12.  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

13.  Take a leadership role related to safety observations, JSA’s, work instructions, reporting, and volunteering

14.  Diversified work, requires considerable judgment and initiative

15.  Participation and volunteering in group, departmental discussions, and safety meetings

16.  Willingly learns new duties related to multiple equipment offerings (crosstrain)

17.  Prevents and reports scrap and rework

18.  Customer orientated, works to exceed customer expectations

19.  Able to build products to the established standard

20.  Reports to work regularly and on time

21.  Proactive in identifying and communicating simplification methods and potential cost reductions. Seeks out new challenges

22.  Assist in the training and mentoring of less experience (L2) assemblers

23.  Basic electrical assembly skills and/or experience
